A lot of large scale taco joints get a rep for being boring af. And you'd think considering the decor and all that this place would be like Bel Air Cantina, the Applebee's of Mexican food. But no. Jose's Blue Sombrero in Fox Point is FANTASTIC. I've been three times, and each time was extremely memorable. The staff are friendly, the restaurant is clean and well maintained, and the food? Incredible. I have yet to leave the taco menu so far, everything is so good. And I wish I could buy the Horchata by the gallon. BY. THE. GALLON.

I have to say the food and service here are excellent! The food is superior to the wide majority of Mexican restaurants in my opinion. The guacamole is made fresh at your table and is delicious. Most of the food is flavorful, fresh and well seasoned without necessarily being spicy. Their happy hour from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. includes snack plates for less than four bucks a piece and they are bigger than expected although you are not able to take any leftovers home. It is dimly lit with music playing but not so loud as to limit conversation. The bar area has TVs but the dining area feels more subdued. The bartenders and wait staff all were very courteous and friendly. I would truly recommend it all the way around!

I don't get to see my parents as much as I used to due to distance, and the staff at Jose's made our lunch memorable and special for celebrating my mom's birthday. Our waitress was so nice and happened to find out about her birthday when we were finishing up our fantastic 1/2 gallon mango margarita (highly recommended!). She quickly went in back and reappeared with 2 more staff members with maracas, complete with a dessert (which my mom said was delicious!) and sombrero! They sang Happy Birthday to her and she got to blow out her birthday candle. It really did put a smile on all of our faces! We all really enjoyed our meals--I had the portabella and steak quesadilla. The steak was flavorful, and they used fresh mushrooms! The beans were the best refried beans I've ever had, which says a lot because I normally don't give them much thought. I wasn't sure what to expect based on some of the negative reviews, but they far exceeded my expectations! With all of the awful things going on in the world and influx of rude people, I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the kindness shown by Jose's staff and our waitress for going above and beyond.

Staff are always friendly. The margs are great some days and terrible others. They really need to pin down the proper measurements for the blended margs. Tacos could also be improved; take a note from some local taco trucks. Love the table-side guac; always a winner!

Holy Guacamole! Would recommend going for the table side guacamole. Food was good fresh and reheated it was actually even better . Good eats.

Picked up takeout earlier today. LOVED the food. Our favorite was the chorizo-bacon-chicken. See the pictures for details about their happy hour deals. Would definitely check those out! Parking is accessible for all.

Jose's Blue Sombrero – Amazing Guacamole, Enchiladas & Cocktails! Jose's Blue Sombrero is a fantastic spot for great Mexican food. Their guacamole is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and made just right. The enchiladas are another standout, packed with bold flavors and perfectly cooked. Honestly, all the food here is great! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making the dining experience even better. And if you’re in the mood for a drink, their cocktails will definitely put a smile on your face. The lively atmosphere and great service make this a must-visit!
